They brought a couple to evaluate for educational purposes. Like you, the size and weight of the unit took me by surprise. I wasn't really comfortable holding it with one hand. I put it on a bit of a tilt on the desk and was very surprised at how fast I could type straight off the bat. The unit was already activated, but wasn't logged into iTunes, do I had to create an account and associate a credit card with it. Unneccessary as I had no intention of buying any apps. Kicked around with some tap tap rhythm game which was pretty cool. Overall the UI was very nice, as all Apple UI's are. The hardware is pretty poor though. No USB and no HDMI mean that I won't be buying the first Gen ipad at least. For now I'll keep using the Nexus One for couchsurfing. Plays flash too :P Fiona bought one home from school the other day.
